New York Yankees Trade Right Fielder Ichiro Suzuki
Ichiro Suzuki, one of Seattle Mariners best baseball players, are now heading to New York Yankees. He has been traded for two young pitchers, D.J. Mitchell and Danny Farquhar, from the Yankees. The Japan born right fielder are very pleased and excited with the move:
“I am going from a team with the most losses to a team with the most wins,” he said. “It’s hard to contain my excitement for that reason.”
Words from Yankees managers about the transfer
Manager Joe Girardi said the following about the transfer: “We’re very excited with the caliber of player we are getting. We feel that he brings the speed element. He’s a tremendous hitter. That speed element is what we lost when Gardy had surgery,” Girardi said. “So this is a big day for us.”
Suzuki will be wearing no 31 instead of no 51 as he is used to. He is likely to start playing for New York Yankees already next week.
